Applying Appreciative Inquiry beyond education

Yesterday, I supported the facilitation of an Appreciative Inquiry workshop that focused on the rehabilitation of people with brain injury into the community.

Saw again the relevance, possibilities and opportunities of AI as a strengths based strategy beyond the field of education.

In a world of deficits and ‘nots’, we have a positive approach (AI) that is concerned with growing people and organisations in a humanistic and whole-listic manner.

Tomorrow I am with senior student leaders from schools around Adelaide, sharing about the relevance and power of AI as a ‘way of being’.

These experiences are reminding me of the measure to which I have adopted an ‘appreciative’ lens on life. I discovered AI in 2003 while reviewing literature for my doctorate. That was the beginning of an exciting journey.
